Full Day Online Legacy Interview - Individual

This option is designed to capture the stories of individuals and couples that are not able to travel to the Legacy Interviews St. Louis studios.

Your loved ones will be invited to tell stories and reminisce about things they have not thought about in decades. Guests are given the opportunity to reflect on their hard work, sacrifices and joys they have experienced. All interviews are hosted/guided by an expert Legacy Interview host.

Our host will ask questions that will help your loved one tell a range of stories that offer context to their lives and the wider family tree. Our host will help your loved one feel comfortable talking about themselves, help them stay on track, and ensure they tell stories that your family will be grateful are recorded.

This interview can be done as an individual or as a couple.

For Couples:

Each person will be given an opportunity to record their own interview and then the couple will record an interview together.

For Individuals:

This is an opportunity to go into much greater detail on several areas. Perfect for the storytellers, talkers and people that have a lot to share.

A Full-Day Online Legacy Interview includes:

• 3 separate interview sessions conducted over 2 days

• Day 1: Two individual interviews (2 hours each)

• Day 2: Third interview capturing wisdom and special stories.

• 3 professionally edited video recordings

• Digital delivery via YouTube links and downloadable file.

• Individuals in an emergency situation need to record their Legacy Interview on an accelerated time table.

How to prepare:

To help your loved one prepare, we will send a digital Memory Guide which provides an overview of the experience, offers clothing advice and has a list of Thought Starter Questions designed to help your parents recall stories from their childhood, career, marriage, parenting and the wisdom they learned along the way.

When you buy this as a gift:

• We will send you a “Preparing for your Interview guide” booklet that is the perfect thing to hand your loved one when you give a Legacy Interview as a gift.

• You will receive an online questionnaire that will tell us when and how to contact your loved one to schedule their interview. Here you will have the opportunity to tell us about your loved one so we can be sure to ask the right questions.

• The day of the interview we will interview your loved ones online for approximately 6 hours. These interviews may be spaced across two days.

• A few weeks after your interview we will send the guest their interview lightly edited to cut out pauses or anything the guest asks to have removed. They have the option of sharing it with you.

Computer Requirements:

In order to use StreamYard to record high quality video and audio you must either have Google Chrome as your web browser. Other web browsers may not work to record the interview properly.

Download the StreamYard app to your tablet, iPad or smartphone.

OR

If you cannot access StreamYard we will utilize Zoom or other similar video platform.

Audio/Video Requirements

Headphones are HIGHLY recommended to improve the sound quality of the interview

Video can be done either through the use of an ordinary webcam OR you may utilize a USB enabled webcam.
